The SKArating Pathways are designed to help professionals advance their knowledge and skills within the SKArating scheme, leading to Accreditation via two distinct routes:

  • SKArating Competent Professional
  • SKArating Assessor for one or all schemes

Both pathways begin with specialised training courses tailored to develop the knowledge and competencies required for each role, followed by annual accreditation. Selecting the right pathway begins with self-assessment of your current competency level. An online self-assessment quiz based on the competency matrix is included in this page further down and can assist you with this process.

Need support?

We know that experience and knowledge can be difficult to define at times and if you wish to discuss with us your situation and guide you to the right decision, please do get in touch with our team through [email protected]

We recommend that professionals do not rush onto pathways if there is insufficient competence as this will be problematic in completing the training, and specifically on the assessor route it will create challenges during project auditing. We wish to support all professionals to enter into the sustainability arena but ensure appropriate levels of competence for specific roles. Should someone proceed onto a pathways while ignoring the competencies requirements, the consequences further down the line will apply and information on them can be read under our Quality Assurance.
